Stuart Dallas has committed his long-term future to Leeds United.
Stuart Dallas has stated that ‘it was crazy’ how many fans Leeds United had during their pre-season tour of Australia in the summer.
The Northern Ireland international has shared that whilst he was on that tour, he was meeting Leeds fans who were from his home country of Belfast but had moved down under many years ago.
On Wednesday, Leeds announced on their official website that both Dallas and centre-back Liam Cooper had penned down their long-term futures at the club.
Nonetheless, Dallas was pretty impressed with what he saw during pre-season as he shared his memories from Leeds’ trip to Australia a few months ago.
“When we went into Australia [for pre-season] it was crazy,” Dallas told LUTV. “Do you [Cooper] remember sitting like having a coffee and older people taking off their coats because it was winter for them and they had Leeds tops on underneath their coats.
“We have never had that. You are on the other side of the world and it’s just mad that like I was meeting people from Belfast, who had moved out to Australia 40 years ago and they maybe haven’t had the opportunity to watch Leeds.”
Dallas has started off the season in a very strong fashion as Marcelo Bielsa has used him at right-back because of an injury to regular starter Luke Ayling.
Despite playing out of position, Dallas has impressed in his new role and it could even be argued that he has been Leeds’ best player after six matches.
Bielsa’s side are sitting third in the Championship table and upon the return of the league games following international football, Leeds will take on Barnsley.
