Stuart Dallas asked if he’s playing his best football for Leeds currently

Stuart Dallas has made an extremely bright start to the season for Leeds United, but has not started a Championship game for the Whites this term.

Stuart Dallas has told BBC Radio Leeds that he feels that he is probably playing the best football since he moved to Leeds two years ago despite the fact that he has been a much more peripheral figure for Thomas Christiansen’s men this season.

Dallas has featured in seven of Leeds’ eight Championship games this term, but is yet to actually start a game in the league.

Nevertheless, the Northern Irishman has still managed to contribute two goals and has arguably looked lively and impressive whenever he has been on the pitch.

And while he admitted that it has been frustrating not playing as often as he would like, he insisted that he is prepared to prove himself deserving of more game-time rather than let his frustration get the better of him.

“Yeah I think it is probably fair to say that,” he told BBC Radio Leeds when asked if he was enjoying his best run of form since arriving at Elland Road.

“If I was to sit here and say I don’t want to start or play, I’d be telling a lie, I want to play every minute of every game but that’s not the way football works. I’ve got to bide my time and when the time comes I’ve got to take my chance. Hopefully if I get the chance tomorrow night, I can do that.”

Unfortunately for Dallas, he is battling for a place in the team in a position where Leeds look to be at their strongest with the likes of Samuel Saiz, Pablo Hernandez, Gjanni Alioski and Kemar Roofe among those also competing for a place.

But if he continues to make an impact when he does get on the pitch – he has already equalled his goals tally from last season – then Christiansen may soon have little choice but to reward him with some appearances in the starting lineup.
