Chris Wood has left Leeds United for Burnley in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas has admitted to The Yorkshire Evening Post that it is going to be hard to replace Chris Wood.

Wood has left Championship club Leeds for Premier League outfit Burnley in the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, the Clarets had to pay the Whites a transfer fee of £15 million in order to secure the services of the 25-year-old striker.

The New Zealand international was one of the best players for Leeds last season, as he scored as many as 27 goals in the Championship.

The performances and goals of Wood were a key reason why Leeds maintained their challenge for the playoffs until the final weeks of the 2016-17 season.

Leeds winger Dallas, who can also operate as an attacking midfielder, has admitted that it is not going to be easy to replace Wood.

The 26-year-old Northern Ireland international, though, has insisted that Leeds are capable of achieving great things without Wood.

Meanwhile, Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton has told The Lancashire Telegraph that the atmosphere at the Premier League club could help Wood thrive.

“He scored 30 goals last season and obviously it’s hard to replace a striker who does that but we have belief in this squad,” Dallas told The Yorkshire Evening Post just before Wood’s departure to Burnley. “We have a squad here who are capable of achieving great things.

“Woody’s chosen to go a different way and we wish him well but from our point of view we just get on with it and keep moving forward.”

“Everything’s geared around players improving, players getting better, maximising performance,” Heaton told The Lancashire Telegraph just before Wood’s arrival at Burnley.

“That’s something the manager and staff work on a lot. From the moment you walk through the door every day, it’s geared towards that.

“It’s no surprise to us really [that players have developed]. Talking to new players coming in over the years, it might not be the case at a lot of places.

“It’s certainly a good environment to be in and one that a lot of people excel in. If it is him, and he does get through the door, I’m sure it’ll be the same.”
