Stuart Armstrong had recently been linked with leaving Celtic, but judging by his latest comments, he does not have any plans of the sort.

Days after The Sun reported that Stuart Armstrong was planning to leave Celtic in the near future, the midfielder has played down talk regarding his contract but expressed his happiness at how things are going currently, the Daily Mail reports.
The Sun reported that Armstrong was hoping to secure a move to Europe when his deal at Parkhead expires at the end of next season.
The news would have undoubtedly been a major blow to Celtic fans given the impact that the 25-year-old has made for the Hoops this term, proving a key part of the midfield that has powered Brendan Rodgers’ men to the Scottish Premiership title already.
However, while Armstrong said little regarding his contract, he certainly hinted that moving away was not on his radar based on how this season has gone.
“It is important to say that I am very happy here and I am playing the best football I have ever played and very lucky to be playing under Brendan Rodgers,” he said, as reported by the Mail.
“The influence he has had in a very short space of time is phenomenal. I am sure it [contract] will take care of itself but my focus has always been on playing football and focusing on the next game.
“This season has been the best of my career to date. I always talked about scoring more goals and I was disappointed with my contribution, last season especially.”

As Armstrong alluded to, Rodgers’ arrival appears to have worked wonders for his form with the Scotland international not only excelling in the middle of the park, but also proving impressive when deployed in unfamiliar positions such as right-back.
But with one year left to go on his contract once this season comes to an end, the Hoops hierarchy may want to get a move on before he does start to have his head turned by potential interest.
