Mohamed Elyounoussi joined Celtic on loan from Southampton in the summer transfer window.

Elyounoussi joined Scottish Premiership club Celtic on loan from Premier League outfit Southampton in the summer transfer window.
Stats
The 25-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, joined the Saints from Basel in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £16 million.
The Norway international struggled to make an impact at Southampton last season, as he made eight starts and eight substitute appearances in the Premier League, and failed to score a single goal or provide even one assist, according to WhoScored.
Armstrong, who joined the Saints from Celtic in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £7 million, has spoken highly of Elyounoussi, and has said that he made positive comments about the Hoops to him.

Armstrong told The Scottish Sun about Elyounoussi: “Mo spoke to me about Celtic and, of course, I had nothing but good things to say. It is a magnificent club and quite dear to me. I hope he has a good time there.
“He can create things. He’s an attacking midfielder, likes to drift into spaces and can move the ball well.”
Armstrong added: “One of his best assets is his ability to get himself out of tricky situations, take hold of the ball and then move the team up the pitch. I expect nothing but good things from him.”
Good debut
Elyounoussi made his competitive debut for Celtic against Hamilton Academical away from home at the Fountain of Youth Stadium in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
The Norway international provided the assist for James Forrest’s goal in the fourth minute and made a couple of good runs, and overall his performance was quite encouraging.
