Southampton ace Stuart Armstrong spoke exclusively to the Daily Echo, and offered high words of praise for his teammate Nathan Redmond, suggesting that the winger has got ‘all the qualities’.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for the Saints this season, chalking up six goals and four assists in 30 appearances in all competitions, and he is now widely considered to be Ralph Hasenhüttl’s most important player.

The south coast club are far from safe from the threat of relegation, with just two points separating them from the drop zone, and if they are to avoid relegation, they will need Redmond to be on his very best form between now and the end of the season.

Armstrong, who joined Southampton from Celtic in the summer of 2018, raved about the former Norwich City ace’s quality, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Echo, suggesting that he is a very good player to have in the team:

“I think everyone can see how talented a player he is in training and in games of late. His goal [against Burnley] was fantastic. The way he moved the ball and then a quick shot into the corner of the net with so much power, with so little back-lift. He is a very good player to have in our team. He has got all the qualities.”

Next up for Southampton is a vitally important clash with Cardiff City at St Mary’s on Saturday, and Redmond will have another key role to play for his side, as they look to create further distance between themselves and the bottom three.
