Back in August, Napoli completed the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Tottenham on loan for the 2022/23 campaign.

The move came after Football London revealed that Antonio Conte had made the France international train by himself at Hotspur Way, as he failed to live up to the Italian’s expectations in N17.

Ndombele has since made four starts in Serie A as Napoli sit top of the table, although some in Naples are not happy with the Frenchman despite their side’s success.

Why Napoli fans aren’t happy with Tottenham loanee Ndombele

Well, the 25-year-old still has plenty of time left to impress at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

However, as things stand, Ndombele isn’t exactly the most popular man in Naples.

That is according to journalist Mimmo Malfitano, who relayed messages from Napoli fans when detailing how the Frenchman is “struggling” due to fitness issues.

As quoted by Area Napoli, he said: “Ndombele has not yet expressed his full potential in Naples. The midfielder is struggling due to not yet being in optimal physical conditions. I am reading you some message that I am receiving these days. ‘Why don’t you go back to Tottenham?’, ‘Go back to England’. Obviously, the Azzurri supporters are not satisfied with the performances of the midfielder.”

As aforesaid, Ndombele is struggling in Serie A having made just four starts, although he is enjoying a much better time in the Champions League.

Napoli currently sit top of Group A after four games – ahead of Liverpool and Ajax – with the Spurs loanee scoring one goal and providing one assist.

Ndombele must perform for sake of Tottenham future

In our view, this is Ndombele’s last chance to prove himself to Conte.

The Napoli No.91 endured a disappointing loan spell at Lyon last season, failing to make an impact across 11 appearances in Ligue 1.

If he cannot turn things around in Naples, then Conte has no reason to change his stance on Ndombele.
