Clinton Morrison doesn’t think someone like Richarlison would be able to step up for Tottenham Hotspur if Harry Kane leaves this summer.
The former Crystal Palace striker, who is a boyhood Tottenham fan, spoke about life after Harry Kane, which is becoming increasingly likely with Bayern Munich knocking on the door.
Last summer, Spurs paid Everton big money for Richarlison, but the Brazil international struggled in his new environment.
He only bagged one Premier League goal last term and Morrison made it clear that he ‘can’t see’ Richarlison producing the goods ahead of the forthcoming campaign, as he told Sky Sports’ Transfer Show (25/07/23).
The simple scenario would be for Kane to stay, and then everyone’s life, including that of Richarlison’s, would be a lot easier.
But there is every chance that doesn’t happen, with Morrison speaking about possible replacements and top six aspirations.

“I can’t see them (finishing top six if Kane leaves),” said Morrison. “Then they would have to bring in another number nine who scores goals.
“Where are you going to get his goals and assists from? I can’t see Richarlison scoring goals that Harry Kane is scoring. So, it’s going to be a struggle.”

Big pressure on Richarlison
With or without Kane, the fans are expecting him to be more of a threat ahead of the new season.
He will get the support and they are pushing him to do well. The fight is there and he has the aggression to his game.
Just that form, stability, consistency and simplicity is missing from his game. Perhaps the wrongs of last season have hurt him so much that he will throw everything at it to prove people wrong.
And he is the type of character to perform better when his back is up against the wall and he is being questioned.
