Danny Murphy has lauded Tottenham’s new boy, Dejan Kulusevski, and labelled him as a ‘strong runner’, as he told Match of the Day.
The Juventus loanee started his side’s 1-0 FA Cup defeat to Middlesbrough on Tuesday night and Murphy was impressed by his ability to run with the ball.
Kulusevski hasn’t been at Spurs for much long, but he would have already understood the up and down nature of the club.
From beating the Premier League champions, Manchester City, in their own backyard to getting knocked out of the FA Cup by a Championship side.
The 21-year-old played at the Riverside yesterday, before being brought off in extra time and this is what Murphy had to say about the player.
“Strong runner, isn’t he?” said Murphy. “When he starts motoring with the ball, he has got that strength to hold people off as he’s running with it.
“He doesn’t mind feeling people (when running with the ball). He is being rewarded for his positivity and trying to take the game to Boro.
“Trying to run with the ball and commit people. He looks a good player.”

Even though it was another evening to forget for Spurs, Kulusevski was one of their better players.
It was a surprise that Antonio Conte actually took him in extra time because he was the most dangerous of all the Spurs players going forward.
The Spurs fans are trying to look for those positives in what has been a topsy-turvy week for the club.
And someone like Kulusevski is a player they can look towards because he has been excellent for Conte’s side.
