Manager Claudio Ranieri has a strong squad to select from ahead of Leicester City’s Champions League Group G clash with FC Copenhagen. This is how Leicester City could line-up in Denmark.

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is yet to concede a Champions League goal for Leicester City and has been a major contributor to the Foxes’ finding themselves top of Group G. The international stopper returns to his native Denmark in search of his fourth consecutive Champions League clean sheet.

In front of Schmeichel, Leicester will field their first choice back four. The central defensive partnership of Robert Huth and captain Wes Morgan are expected to be joined by full backs Danny Simpson on the right and Austrian international left back Christian Fuchs.

In Leicester’s midfield engine room it is anticipated that the instrumental Danny Drinkwater will be partnered by 21-year-old Ghanian Daniel Amartey. The duo are likely to be flanked by Marc Albrighton and the mercurial Rihad Mahrez. The PFA Players’ Player of the Year has been in fine form for Leicester throughout their Champions League campaign – scoring three and assisting one of Leicester’s five European goals in Group G.

Ranieri’s main team selection concern regarded the availability of record signing Islam Slimani and weekend goal scorer Ahmed Musa. The £28 million signing from Sporting Lisbon is set to miss tonight’s clash with Copenhagen with a groin strain that kept the Algerian out of Leicester’s 1-1 Premier League draw with Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
However, Ranieri will be encouraged by the news that Musa – who has goals in consecutive league appearances – will be fit to play, after initially being a slight injury worry.
Musa is expected to partner Jamie Vardy in Leicester’s attack.
