Andrew Tate is set to make his debut appearance with Misfits Boxing later this year.

Earlier this month, reports surfaced that he’d be stepping back into the ring, taking on Chase DeMoor for the Misfits heavyweight title.

By then, it’ll have been more than five years since his last professional fight. But this wasn’t the only big news involving Tate and Misfits. The promotion also announced that he’s taking over as CEO.

Tate’s potential overlooked by some fans

Some fans may be underestimating Andrew Tate heading into his return bout, but a well-known striker in the world of combat sports thinks otherwise.

Tate hasn’t fought professionally in five years. He stepped away from kickboxing in 2020 to focus on content creation and social media. Since then, he’s become one of the most polarising figures online.

Perry believes there are plenty of reasons to take Tate seriously ahead of his comeback fight against Chase DeMoor on December 20th at 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

DeMoor became champion by defeating Chris Avila earlier this year at MF & DAZN: X Series 14. Perry also weighed in on what might give DeMoor an edge going into their matchup:

Liam Harrison backs Andrew Tate’s striking ahead of Misfits Boxing debut

Chase DeMoor is confident he can spoil Andrew Tate’s Misfits Boxing debut when they meet for the heavyweight title on December 20.

The 29-year-old champion has already made two successful defences since claiming the belt last November.

But this bout will be his biggest yet, with plenty of interest in whether Tate can back up the persona he’s built as ‘Top G’.

Liam Harrison, an eight-time Muay Thai world champion, believes a new Misfits champion will be crowned later this year.

Tate has a background in kickboxing, holding a record of 43-9 and even winning multiple titles. But there’s still uncertainty around how well that experience will translate to boxing after such a long layoff.

DeMoor responded to Harrison’s comments on X, saying:

KSI didn’t expect Andrew Tate to step back into the ring

KSI’s strong reaction to Andrew Tate being named Misfits Boxing CEO had fans divided, with many questioning whether he was genuinely surprised.

It wasn’t just the appointment that caught him off guard. KSI had previously gone on record saying he didn’t think Tate would return to fighting at all.

“I don’t think Andrew Tate’s gonna want to fight,” KSI said in a 2022 interview. “I think he’s kind of past the whole fighting thing and also him losing kind of ruins his image. He’s not really a ‘Top G’ if he gets knocked out by someone like Jake Paul.”

That kind of backstory is exactly why this fight is likely to draw plenty of attention, no matter how it turns out.
