Caleb Ekuban has left Leeds United.
Caleb Ekuban has sealed his move from Leeds United to Trabzonspor.
Ekuban leaves Leeds on a loan deal which has an option to become permanent.
Ekuban signed for Leeds from Italian side Chievo after a prolific season on loan in Albania.
He found the English Championship more difficult and despite impressing with his clever movement up front, he scored only one goal.
Ekuban was unveiled by Trabzonspor at a press conference this morning and said he is confident he will do better in Turkey.
He said: “Last season I experience a bad season because of injuries and stuff but now I am totally fit and I think I can be a goalscorer for this team and help them achieve what they want.”
He added that he is ‘very happy’ to have made the move and has been learning about Trabzonspor’s history.
Ekuban also revealed that he sought advice from Souleymane Doukara, with who he spent a month at Leeds before he left the club to go and play in Turkey.
Doukara signed with Osmanlispor before switching teams to Antalyaspor mid-season.
Ekuban said: “I spoke to an ex teammate Doukara. He told me the city is great, its full of football and you come and enjoy yourself.”
