After confirming the arrival of Ibrahima Konaté, a new striker could be joining Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
According to a recent report from Inside Futbol, Liverpool held advanced talks with Fiorentina frontman Dušan Vlahović.
Inside Futbol claimed that AC Milan also held talks, although Liverpool’s negotiations had progressed further.
Now, the Liverpool target has picked up an individual award after an impressive season in Serie A.
Vlahović won the Young Player of the Year award yesterday, securing the title of ‘Best Under-23’ in Italy’s top-flight this term.
The 7-cap Serbia international won the award after scoring an eye-catching 21 goals in 37 league games.
Fiorentina eventually finished 13th, so it’s makes Vlahović’s achievement all the more impressive as his goals came in a mid-table side.
Vlahović could be Klopp’s Robert Lewandowski at Liverpool
In our view, the 21-year-old has the potential to be Klopp’s Robert Lewandowski at Anfield.

Under the German’s guidance, Lewandowski scored 102 goals in 186 appearances for Borussia Dortmund.
Klopp utilised the Polish striker’s physicality, excellent movement and brilliant hold-up play to fine effect, as Marco Reus and Mario Götze thrived while running off the Pole.
Vlahović is still young, so it’s slightly unfair to make such a bold comparison.

However, he too is a powerful frontman with good control of the ball, so there’s plenty for Klopp to work with in that respect.
The German is a fine coach, who mostly improves any forward he can get his hands on. Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s rise under his tutelage has been significant.
In that respect, Vlahović and Klopp could be a match made in heaven.
