Cristiano Ronaldo is a free agent after his departure from Manchester United, and while a lot of clubs would jump at the chance to sign the Portugal international forward, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United decided to turn it down.
In November, 90min reported that Newcastle were offered the chance to sign Ronaldo, but the Magpies decided to reject it.
The report claimed that Ronaldo’s representatives approached Newcastle to see if they would sign him, but they were informed by the Premier League club that they were not keen on him.
The Newcastle squad are in Saudi Arabia now on a week-long warm weather training camp ahead of the second half of the Premier League season.
And interestingly, that is where Ronaldo could be playing his club football from January.

Newcastle United-linked Cristiano Ronaldo Al-Nassr in January
Marca have reported that Ronaldo has decided to join Al-Nassr on a free transfer in January and will sign a two-and-a-half-year contract.
The 37-year-old will earn a base salary of just €100 million (£86 million) per year which will rise to close to €200 million (£172 million) includes incentives and bonuses.
Ronaldo became a free agent last month after his contract with Manchester United was terminated by mutual consent following his explosive interview with TV presenter Piers Morgan.
