There’ll be plenty of Liverpool interest regarding Taiwo Awoniyi this season.
The Nigeria international joined Nottingham Forest this past summer, having left Liverpool in 2021.
Awoniyi never made a competitive appearance under Jurgen Klopp as a result of work permit issues, constantly being sent out on loan.
Therefore, the Reds never got a chance to gauge just how good he could be.

But he’s proving himself quite a decent Premier League player this season.
The 25-year-old has scored two goals in seven top-flight appearances since returning to England, spanning 300 minutes of football.
In fact, Awoniyi has netted the same amount of goals as Mohamed Salah this season, with the Liverpool winger manging 240 more minutes than the former Reds forward.
The Anfield outfit only picked up around £6.5 million for selling the player to Union Berlin over a year ago but they could well regret selling him for such a nominal fee.
Awoniyi is never going to be Forest’s equivalent of Salah obviously but, at 25, he is going to get a lot better.
And given the gulf in class between the supporting cast in Nottingham compared to Liverpool, well his goal tally would improve dramatically in a better team.
