Reported West Ham United target Dusan Vlahovic is reluctant to sign a new contract at Fiorentina after a superb breakthrough season in Serie A, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport.
After losing Federico Chiesa to bitter rivals Juventus last summer, could La Viola be about to lose another of the game’s most exciting young attackers?
Vlahovic certainly did his growing reputation no harm on Saturday, firing home a 34-minute treble as Fiorentina battered relegation rivals Benevento 4-1 away from home.
The Serbia international has now scored 12 goals this term and his hat-trick clinching goal at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito was a joy to behold; a Berkgamp-esque touch and lob from 25 yards out.
West Ham and Borussia Dortmund have already expressed an interest in Vlahovic, according to Calciomercato. More displays like Saturday’s and the explosive, left-footed 21-year-old will be a man in high demand.
Vlahovic is under contract until 2023 but that has not stopped Fiorentina from trying to tie their breakthrough star down to a new long-term deal.

Gazzetta claims that La Viola owner, Rocco Commisso, has even offered to triple Vlahovic’s salary, offering him £20,000-a-week. But, with Roma and AC Milan now sniffing around, the former Partizan Belgrade youngster has no plans to put pen to paper at the Stadio Artemio Franchi as it stands.
“Now that he has blossomed, everyone wants him – but I am not selling him to anyone,” said the famously bullish Commisso.
Fiorentina fans may remember, however, that Commisso said something very similar about Chiesa last summer. By the time the window shut, Chiesa was wearing the black-and-white stripes of Juventus.
