Moussa Sissoko has stated on his Instagram story ‘strength my brother’ after Tanguy Ndombele left Tottenham Hotspur to return to Lyon on transfer deadline day.

Added with Sissoko, his former Spurs teammate, Ryan Sessegnon, also sent a message to the midfielder by saying ‘good luck brother’.

This was the message Ndombele posted on his Instagram, as he stated that he is ‘happy to be back’ on loan at his former club.

Ndombele’s last game as a Spurs player perhaps sums up his time in north London.

The ball-carrying midfielder was subbed off in the second half of his side’s comeback win against League One Morecambe in the FA Cup.

Not only did the Frenchman produce another bang average performance, but he was booed by the home supporters as he was hauled off with his team 1-0 down.

Lyon seemingly have the option to sign Ndombele on a permanent basis in the summer and Spurs fans will probably be hoping they do.

A club-record transfer that will go down in history for all the wrong reasons and Ndombele can blame no one but himself.

Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, even Ryan Mason for a brief period, Nuno Espirito Santo and now Antonio Conte couldn’t get the best out of him.

Perhaps that’s a sign that the coaches weren’t the problem here, but the player himself and how he applied himself.

The talent and ability on the ball was there for all to see, but in perhaps the best league in the world, it’s only going to carry you so far.
