Fabinho’s wife, Rebeca Tavares, has offered her ‘strength’ to Diogo Jota after the Liverpool forward received gut-wrenching injury news, as she posted on Instagram.

The 25-year-old is set to miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, after he went off on a stretcher during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday.

It’s a calf injury that will rule Jota out for the remainder of 2022, which just comes at the wrong time for the player because next month the footballing world will descend to the Middle East for the biggest sporting event in the world.

Even the smallest of knocks will leave those going to the 2022 World Cup very worried because there isn’t much time to recover.

Those worries will only grow as the tournament gets closer because November 13 will be the final Premier League game – Fulham against Manchester United – and Qatar will kick off the 2022 World Cup against Ecuador seven days later.

Nonetheless, Jota reacted on his Instagram to his injury and posted that ‘one of my dreams collapsed’, as players sent their messages of support to the versatile forward in the comments section.

Many told Jota that he will be ‘come back stronger’, whilst Fabinho’s wife added: “strength, my friends.”

JOTA WILL HAVE PLENTY MORE CHANCES

It’s going to be hard for Jota to digest this news, as it would be for any other player, but given his talents and age, then he will have plenty more chances to play on football’s biggest stage.

He will turn 26 in December and is yet to probably hit the peak of his powers, but by the time the next World Cup comes about in the USA, he will be hoping to be playing the best football of his career.

Even, thereafter, he will still have plenty more chances to play in major tournaments, so from that perspective, he shouldn’t feel too down on himself.
