Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after Gary Neville posted a tweet about Jordan Pickford, following England’s 2-0 win over Germany.
What’s the story?
Well, the Everton fans aren’t very happy with Neville’s tweet, even though there didn’t seem to be any malice behind it.
The Sky Sports pundit tweeted that Pickford was his Man of the Match against Germany.
Neville then went on to say that the £30 million shot-stopper seems like a different player for England than he does for the Toffees.
Now, this is where the Everton fans hit back.
Everton fans defend Jordan Pickford

A number of Everton fans leapt to Pickford’s defence, and told Neville all about how impressive the 27-year-old was last season.
The 35-cap England international kept ten clean sheets in 31 Premier League appearances last term, which is pretty good.
Pickford also conceded just 39 goals, which again, isn’t bad.
There was a time when Neville’s tweet would be correct.

Around the time of the 2018 World Cup, Pickford was a calamitous figure for Everton, but seemed to be quite heroic under Gareth Southgate.
Now, he is starting to perform consistently for both club and country.
Let’s see what the Everton fans on Twitter have been saying about Neville’s tweet…
