
Arsenal fans on Twitter have been critical of Mikel Arteta’s team selection yesterday and questioned why William Saliba was once again left out of their matchday squad.
The Gunners suffered a 1-0 defeat, with Jamie Vardy coming off the bench and scoring late on, and the home defence once again switching off.
It’s mistake after mistake after mistake which is beyond a common theme at the Emirates now and it has really started to annoy the Arsenal fans.
They were full of praise for Leicester teenager Wesley Fofana and the performance he put up in defence despite it being pretty early in his career.
What makes matters worse is that Fofana was purchased from St Etienne for £30 million [Sky Sports] – like Saliba – and has had less time to settle yet he is starting Premier League games and thriving.
Whilst Arsenal defenders continue to make mistakes, they suggested that someone like Fofana is showing up Arteta because he is proving that Saliba should, at the very least, be in the squad.

If Arsenal were flying high and doing well then it wouldn’t be an issue. The problem stems from the fact that goals are still being conceded and there doesn’t seem to be any change from where the club was 18 months ago.
Those in North London were seriously impressed with the performance Fofana put up at the Emirates, with some thinking it was a Man of the Match display.
If Saliba was assumed to be ahead of his former teammate back in France then it begs the question as to why Arsenal’s very own talented defender isn’t even given a sniff?
