Simon Jordan told talkSPORT on Thursday morning that Everton boss Rafa Benitez has aimed a ‘strange shot’ at Carlo Ancelotti.
On Wednesday, Benitez took part in his first Everton conference where the inevitable of him previously managing Liverpool was brought up.
That is something that is going to cloud over his head until he starts winning games and shutting those critics up.
But when Benitez spoke about Everton needing a ‘winning mentality’ at the club, ex-Crystal Palace owner, Jordan, thinks those comments were aimed at one person and one person only.
“I also heard him talking about a winning mentality needing to be installed inside the football club,” said Jordan.
“Which I thought was a strange shot at an elite manager that proceeded him that seems to have not grasped the concept of a winning mentality.
“Benitez will build a decent football side because that’s what he does. If he’s given the tools and everything he wants then he will be the perfect manager for Farhad Moshiri.
“If he isn’t given what he wants then they will be a challenge between him and the board.”

Opinions will always remain divided about Benitez being Everton boss, but one thing is for sure, he is someone who gives his all for the club.
Benitez spoke about how he will now ‘fight’ for Everton and you can bet your bottom dollar he will do just that.
Like he proved at Newcastle, if there is an issue between the fans and the board then he will take the side of the supporters and stick up for them every single time.
What Benitez has done for the city of Liverpool has been remarkable and it’s like he is one of their own, but when it comes to footballing matters, it’s always going to be a talking point.
