Tottenham supporters have hit back at Gareth Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, after his latest comments on his client.
Months after making a return to Tottenham, a lot of fans expected it to be rosy in the North London garden for Bale, but that’s not been the case.
Nevermind trying to build his way back to the top, Bale is struggling with minutes on the pitch, and at times, a place on Tottenham’s bench.
Well, his agent has had his say and it’s not gone down well with the Spurs supporters:
“He’s towards the end of his career,” said Barnett, as posted by BBC Sport. “Really, you have to ask Mourinho that.
“When they say, ‘What’s happened to him?’ – he’s won more trophies abroad than any British player in history.
“He’s done very well financially, and he has enough money for the rest of his life. He has a very good lifestyle, so that is what has happened to him.”
Tottenham supporters think that the left-footed speedster no longer has to motivation to perform rather than it potentially being Mourinho’s fault.
There’s a reason why Bale returned to Spurs, and that’s because it went absolutely pear-shaped at Real Madrid.
And some Spurs fans have pointed out that it was seemingly Zinedine Zidane being questioned before, and now it’s Mourinho.
Well, Tottenham are in Europa League action today and it will be interesting to see the role Bale plays.
