‘Strange move’: Some Aston Villa fans react to message from Wolves’ new signing

Aston Villa fans have offered their thoughts on goalkeeper Matija Sarkic after he made the switch to Wolves yesterday.

The 23-year-old posted a Twitter message stating that he is ‘happy’ to have joined Wolves following his departure from Villa.

There were some Villa fans on Twitter who wished him luck for the future, whilst others ribbed him about how he is taking a step down in his career.

Sarkic didn’t break into Villa’s first-team, but he did impress during a loan spell at Scottish Premiership side Livingston during the recently concluded campaign.

Despite impressing up north, Villa opted to recall him back during the January transfer window, with his contract running out this summer and the Grimbsy-born player opting to make the switch across the Midlands.

Rui Patricio is Wolves’ number one keeper, so Sarkic isn’t going to dispose him of the senior jersey anytime soon.

It will be interesting to see how Wolves use Sarkic because a loan move might benefit the shot-stopper.
