Tottenham Hotspur supporters on Twitter want Fabio Paratici to swap Steven Bergwijn for a long-time target in North London.

Speculation from Italy in recent days indicates that the Tottenham winger is on Lazio’s radar.

Bergwijn has been heavily linked with a move to Ajax in recent weeks but it looks like the Serie A outfit are also in the reckoning.

And it just so happens that Lazio have a player who’s deceived Spurs for quite a long time.

The Lilywhites have wanted Sergej Milinkovic-Savic at Hotspur Way since way back in 2018 and speculation crops up every now and again.

Three years ago, The Mirror claimed Daniel Levy was ready to greenlight a £100 million double deal for the Serbian powerhouse and Ciro Immobile, which didn’t materialise.

And more recently, under Jose Mourinho, Foot Mercato reported that Levy wanted him again in the summer of 2020.

With Bergwijn as a sweetener, Tottenham supporters are calling on Paratici – who has an extensive contact list in Italy – to engineer a transfer which involves the two players swapping places.

Realistic?

Well, Bergwijn could definitely join Lazio, but whether Tottenham get anyone in return is debatable.

Reason being, the midfielder is a far bigger asset for the Italians than Bergwijn is for Spurs and therefore a straight swap is a tad illogical.

A part-exchange deal, like Erik Lamela joining Sevilla for £20 million and Bryan Gil, however, seems a little more practical but even then, it’s a long shot.

In October, Calciomercato reported that £67 million may be enough for Liverpool – also linked – to land the big man.
