Leeds United v Chelsea threw up a fascinating contest at Elland Road this afternoon.

And it was the hosts who cruised to a comfortable victory as Jesse Marsch’s outfit ran out 3-0 winners today.

Goals from Brendan Aaronson and Rodrigo helped Leeds into a 2-0 lead midway through the encounter, before Jack Harrison completed the scoring in the second half.

It was a relatively difficult first 30 minutes for the Whites, however, and not everything was going their way.

And commentator Jim Beglin spotted one moment where Rodrigo got annoyed with Harrison who, after some good work to begin a promising attack, over hit a through ball as it rolled out for a goal kick.

Here’s what Beglin said on Optus Sport: “Rodrigo has let him know straight away. He wanted it into feet. He didn’t want it knocked ahead.”

Consequence of the victory, Leeds have now collected seven points from a possible nine in the Premier League.

For a team that was very nearly relegated last season, Marsch’s troops look absolutely brilliant so far and on the same wavelength – well, apart from the Rodrigo misunderstanding with Harrison.

Next up for the West Yorkshire club is a visit to Brighton next weekend, with the Seagulls having won 2-0 away to West Ham United this afternoon.

It’s a difficult next encounter for Leeds but, based on this performance, they won’t be afraid.
