Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

Former Celtic manager Gordon Strachan has told TalkSPORT that Brendan Rodgers’ time in charge of the Scottish champions is the perfect mould to thrive as Arsenal boss.
Former Liverpool boss, Rodgers, has been linked with a move down south after Arsenal announced that Arsene Wenger would be stepping down as Gunners manager after 22 years in north London.
Rodgers has been linked to the role, along with the likes of Diego Simeone, Luis Enrique and Thomas Tuchel, but he was quoted by the Independent as saying that it would take “something extraordinary” to see him leave Celtic.

However, former Scotland boss Strachan believes Rodgers is the perfect fit for the Gunners as his time at Celtic has helped him prepare in terms of the Champions League and intense media scrutiny would help him if he joined Arsenal.
“A bonus you get as Celtic manager is you play in the Champions League and you have to deal with the top, top teams – so there’s preparation there,” Strachan said. “But also, Brendan has done it at Liverpool.
“Celtic understood when they took Brendan on that if he did a great job, which he has done there, he would get the call somewhere else.
“There’s absolutely no gap in terms of the stress you get being Celtic manager. When you’re at Celtic, if you can deal with the stress and the media up there, you can deal with it anywhere. If you can deal with it at Celtic, you can deal with anything that comes along.”

The 45-year-old signed a four-year deal at Celtic last season, which will keep him on board until the summer of 2021 – enough to oversee the Hoops completing 10 successive Scottish Premiership titles.
However, the lure of replacing Wenger at the hotseat at Arsenal is certainly a tantalising one. The summer promises to be an interesting one regarding the future of Rodgers, who is set to earn his sixth trophy in two years this weekend.
