Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly wanted to bring Oliver McBurnie to Ibrox in January, and the Gers should try again for the Swansea City-owned Barnsley striker in the summer transfer window.

Oliver McBurnie has made it clear that he would love to play for his boyhood club Rangers, and the Gers’ fans also want the Swansea City-owned Barnsley striker at Ibrox.
Rangers wanted to sign McBurnie from Swansea in the January transfer window before his loan move to Barnsley, according to The Scottish Sun.
The 21-year-old striker himself recently told The Scottish Sun that he dreams of playing for Rangers one day.
The youngster is in great form at the moment and has scored six goals in eight Championship starts for Barnsley since his January switch.

McBurnie made his international debut for Scotland last week, as he played for 77 minutes against Costa Rica in a friendly at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
The performance of the former Bradford City striker was very impressive, and if that were not enough for Rangers to seriously consider making a renewed effort for him in the summer transfer window, then the following comments from Gordon Strachan should convince them to do so.

The former Celtic and Scotland manager has praised McBurnie’s hunger to play first-team football and make the loan move from Premier League club Swansea to Championship side Barnsley.
While analysing McBurnie’s performance against Costa Rica, Strachan told Sky Sports: “I like him. He went on loan. He could have stayed at Swansea. He went on loan and has done something about himself.”
Such an attitude and hunger should convince Rangers to at least try to sign McBurnie in the summer transfer window.
