Liverpool fans have reacted to Gary Neville’s Twitter message today where he named his XI for England v Germany at Euro 2020.
And the Liverpool supporters are in slight disagreement with the TV pundit because they want Jordan Henderson starting for that last-16 showdown.
Neville left out the Liverpool man, as he opted to play a five at the back system, with a two-man midfield containing Kalvin Phillips and Declan Rice.
The Leeds and West Ham duo have started all three games in the middle of the park for England, but in a three-man midfield.
After a dramatic night of action at Euro 2020 yesterday, it all ended up with England being pitted up against their old rivals at Wembley for a last-16 clash, after the German’s survived a scare against Hungary.
It is set to be some showdown, and just like the first three games, Gareth Southgate’s team selection will be a huge talking point.
Given Henderson’s experience, it seems as though Liverpool supporters want their leader in the middle of the pack because they understand what he can bring to the table during this pressure cooker of a game.
But whether Henderson starts or not, in the build-up to the game, he is going to play a huge part in this pretty young and inexperienced side preparing in the best way possible.
Therefore, it’s understandable why some would want the combative player to start against the German’s.
However, the question will still remain, is he fit enough to start and produce his best?
He played 45 minutes against the Czech Republic on Tuesday, including the same amount during a friendly game leading up to this tournament.
Either way, Liverpool fans want him starting.
