West Ham have been linked with a number of midfielders, but Stoke look most vulnerable this January.

It is clear that West Ham United are looking for midfield reinforcements in this January transfer window as they look to pull clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
The Hammers have been linked with an array of stars, with Harry Arter – as reported by Sky Sports – and Jonjo Shelvey – per the Mirror – among them.
Doing a deal with either Bournemouth or Newcastle United – both fellow relegation strugglers – will be tough, but it could be that another side battling at the bottom would provide a rather more straight forward target.

Joe Allen has similarly been reported as potential target for West Ham – in the Mirror – and Stoke City’s form cannot have improved their chances of keeping a key performer.
The atmosphere at Stoke is toxic right now and they continue to tumble down the table, with back-to-back defeats to Chelsea and Newcastle dealing a serious blow to their survival ambitions.
This could give West Ham the perfect opportunity to strike, with the situation at London Stadium somewhat more positive despite some disappointing results over the festive period.

David Moyes is keen to invest and Allen could hardly be blamed for looking to jump ship as his current side flounder.
Signing players from league rivals is never easy, but West Ham look to have been boosted by Stoke’s troubles; they would be wise to now focus their attentions on Allen.
