Stoke are bottom of the Premier League with no wins to their name.
Stoke City’s terrible start to the season continued on Saturday with a 4-0 battering from Tottenham Hotspur.
Mark Hughes was sent to the stands 35 minutes in after he reacted angrily to the referee’s decision to book Marko Arnautovic for a dive.
The returning Son Heung-min then put Spurs ahead after 41 minutes, assisted by Christian Eriksen after the Dane signed a new contract at White Hart Lane this week.
The South Korean forward got his second after the break, and it was made 3-0 by Dele Alli, whose 59th-minute goal seemingly put an end to his poor start to the season.
Another player who has started poorly is Harry Kane, but he grabbed his first of the season in the 70th minute to complete the rout at the expense of Hughes’ side. Stoke received a hammering the last time Spurs visited, and a repeat of April’s result means the Potters are bottom of the league with just a point.
Having drawn 1-1 on the opening day with Middlesbrough, Stoke have since been beaten by Manchester City, Everton and now Tottenham.
Following another heavy defeat, the second time Stoke have conceded four goals this season, fans took to Twitter to express their displeasure.
