The Swansea City midfielder looks to be on the move, but could Stoke City enter the running to sign him?

Stoke City have emerged as surprise contenders to sign Sam Clucas with Sky Bet.
The Swansea City midfielder could be on the move ahead of Thursday’s 5pm transfer deadline, with Wolverhampton Wanderers the latest club linked with his services, courtesy of Sky Sports’s live blog (Wednesday 8th August, 09:32).
Wolves have since shot to the top of the betting (11/10), but it is Stoke who occupy the next shortest odds (13/2) – ahead of Fulham (20/1) and Burnley (20/1), whose £8 million move for Clucas fell through this week according to Sky.
Intriguingly, Stoke are yet to be credited with interest in Clucas, who can occupy a variety of positions.

But they may end up fighting a losing battle if they do decide to pursue the 27-year-old, with Wolves reportedly set to make a formal approach on Wednesday.
And Swansea are likely to favour a move to a Premier League club, with Stoke considered a promotion rival this season.
Wolves, Stoke or somewhere else? Where will Clucas end up?
