Stoke City striker Peter Crouch has praised Leeds United in The Daily Mail.

The Potters will take on Leeds at home in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

Much of the build-up to the match has been about the ‘Spygate’ incident, but Crouch has praised Marcelo Bielsa’s side for their performances on the pitch.

The 37-year-old wrote in The Daily Mail while giving his opinion on ‘Spygate’: “However, Leeds are not top of the table because they have been watching other teams train.

“They are an impressive young side, full of energy and desire — and they have been well drilled by one of the great modern coaches. Spying won’t get them promoted. Bielsa will.”

Promotion challenge

Bielsa was appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer of 2018, and under him, the Whites have done brilliantly so far this season.

Leeds have consistently won matches and have entertained, and there is no surprise that the West Yorkshire outfit are at the top of the Championship table at the moment.

Winning at Stoke, though is not going to be easy for Leeds, especially with the Potters struggling at the moment.

Stoke can still launch a challenge for the Championship playoffs, but for that, the Potters need to pick up all three points against Leeds on Saturday afternoon.

According to BBC Sport, Leeds are aiming to complete a league double over Stoke for the first time since the 1988-89 campaign.
