Stoke City knocked Leeds United out of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Stoke City supporters on Twitter reacted to Ryan Woods’ performance during their penalty shootout victory against Leeds United on Tuesday.
Midfielder Woods has had a tough time at Stoke since his move from Brentford, but he produced a positive display at Elland Road.
For the Championship game at the weekend, which Nathan Jones’ side lost 3-0, Woods was on the bench, but he was brought back into the starting XI for the League Cup game.
He played his part in Sam Vokes netting the second goal of the game because his pass found Tyrese Campbell, who did very well to find Vokes.
In the second half, Marcelo Bielsa’s side pulled back Stoke’s 2-0 lead, with Eddie Nketiah and Helder Costa getting on the scoresheet.

In the summer, The Sun on Sunday (7/7; page 61) claimed that Leeds were keen on Woods’ signature, that’s if they lost their main man in the middle of the park Kalvin Phillips to Aston Villa.
That didn’t end up happening and Woods is now hoping to build on the positive result on Tuesday and take it into the Championship games, where Stoke are sitting bottom.
