Derby County appointed Lampard after Stoke City poached Gary Rowett.

Derby County’s win at Old Trafford on Tuesday has caused some Stoke City supporters to wonder what might have been.
Derby overcame Manchester United on penalties to reach the EFL Cup fourth round, in what is their first season under Frank Lampard’s management.
Were it not for Stoke’s prising away of Lampard’s predecessor, Gary Rowett, however, it is a result that might never have happened.
And with Rowett’s new side struggling to live up to their tag as Championship promotion favourites, the following Potters fans can’t help but look on enviously.

This is what they’re saying about Derby’s achievement on Twitter…
Lampard, who coached briefly with Chelsea’s youth team last season, landed his first ever senior managerial role at Derby.
The Rams currently sit 13 places and seven points better off than Stoke, in sixth position.
Should Stoke have gone for the former Chelsea and England star instead of Rowett?
