Sergio Reguilon has been speaking to Tottenham about a number of topics, in a short interview posted on Twitter earlier today.
The Spain international was shown a picture of himself and Gareth Bale in Madrid, when Reguilon was just a youngster, which led to the left-back praising the Welshman.
What’s the story?
Well, the Tottenham No.3 had many kind things to say about the man who once owned his shirt number in N17.
Speaking about Bale, Reguilon told Spurs: “I was the biggest fan of Gareth. He knows, he knows, he knows. I always speak with him about that. For me, I was dreaming to play with my idol, and we’re still speaking now.”
Clearly, the 25-year-old has a lot of respect for the 32-year-old.

In our view, it’s hard not to respect Bale.
The Wales international has enjoyed a stunning career so far, winning four Champions League titles while amassing 100 caps for Wales.
Bale is, without question, the greatest player Wales have ever produced, while only Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more goals in Champions League finals.
Tottenham could soon reunite Gareth Bale and Sergio Reguilon
Interestingly, Spurs could soon reunite the duo in north London, having already done so in the 2020/21 campaign under José Mourinho.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Tottenham want to sign Bale for a third time this summer, when his contract with Real Madrid expires.

Given his status as an icon among Spurs fans, we’re sure that would go down very well with the supporters – even more so as COVID-19 meant nobody actually saw his return in the 2020/21 season.
Keep an eye on this saga – Bale will be a free agent in June, so a deal could presumably be completed quite easily.
