Tottenham Hotspur supporters praised Kyle Walker-Peters performance on Tuesday after their side recorded a 1-1 draw at Southampton.

It has been nearly two years since Spurs sold Walker-Peters to the South Coast club, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg going in the other direction.

Both players were on the pitch at St Mary’s yesterday and Spurs fans liked what they saw from their former academy product.

Some were even arguing whether they would have him back for someone like Matt Doherty.

The Republic of Ireland international, who came on as a second-half substitute for Sergio Reguilon, has struggled during his time in north London.

Given Walker-Peters’ rise and Tottenham’s struggles in that right-back, and now wing-back role, some would state that it was a mistake letting the player go.

He would probably walk into Tottenham’s XI now and it also needs to be remembered that he has also played out on the left-side for Southampton too.

But what is seemingly Tottenham’s loss is Southampton’s gain because they have a top-quality fullback on their hands that is only going to get better.

Added with that, Walker-Peters is only, 24, and he has years and years of improvements left in his game.
