Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Gareth Bale, Joe Rodon and Ben Davies making the final cut for Wales’ 26-man squad for Euro 2020.
All players were expected to be selected, but Spurs supporters found it interesting that the club’s official Twitter account, when reacting to that news, opted to mention Bale’s name also given that he’s no longer on their books.
The left-footed speedster recently spent the season on loan at Spurs, but he’s now heading back to Real Madrid.
Bale has one year left on his contract in Spain and it will be interesting to see what happens with his future during these coming weeks.
Of course, he has the Euros to look forward to, at the moment, with both Davies and Rodon hoping they can earn the minutes on the pitch.
Sergio Reguilon, who wasn’t selected by Spain for Euro 2020, has been, for most parts, playing ahead of the Welshman at Tottenham this season.
But he’s a regular for his country and he will be expected to line up, alongside Bale next month.
It’s just a case of whether Rodon, whose game time went down the hill once Ryan Mason took charge, will also start.
And if they do then it’s the Tottenham Welsh mafia taking to the field at the Euros and hoping to cause more upsets.
Here is a selection of Spurs fans reacting to Bale, Davies and Rodon’s call-ups:
