David Martin has taken to Twitter to comment on West Ham’s 1-0 win over Chelsea from November 30th 2019, on the one-year anniversary of the victory at Stamford Bridge.

Significantly, it was the shot-stopper’s Premier League debut, and it could hardly have gone any better for him as he kept a clean sheet in a London derby win.

Martin – who earns £15,385-a-week at the London Stadium – tweeted the following yesterday.

It was truly an inspired performance from the Hammers supporter on that chilly November day in west London.

Martin earned the WhoScored Man of the Match award for his display, in which he managed to complete 11 of his attempted 26 long-range passes while pulling off a number of excellent stops.

Since that special day, the ex-Millwall glovesman has managed to rack up five Premier League appearances for his beloved West Ham, displaying pride and passion in each and every outing.

Martin was so overwhelmed by his eventful Premier League debut that he broke down in tears after full-time.

He was then consoled by a number of grateful teammates out on the Stamford Bridge turf.

Even one year on, it seems like the moment is still just as fresh in Martin’s mind as it was at the time, judging by his emotional tweet.
