Should Glasgow Rangers make a move for Aston Villa forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy in the January transfer window?

Former Celtic midfielder Stiliyan Petrov has stated on social networking site Twitter that Aston Villa forward Rushian Hepburn-Murphy would be a good loan signing for Rangers.

The Daily Mail reported back in November of Rangers’ interest in Hepburn-Murphy.

The 18-year-old forward has been on the books of Villa his entire professional career so far and has a contract with the Villans until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

According to The Glasgow Evening Times, talks between the teenager and the Championship club over a new three-year contract stalled earlier this week.

Former Celtic midfielder Petrov believes that England Under-18 international forward Hepburn-Murphy would be a good signing for Rangers on a loan deal in the January transfer window.

“Rushian is a very exciting young striker,” Petrov told The Glasgow Evening Times. “He’s very quick and he would make a difference for Rangers.

“He’s one of those players that you love to have in the team but you hate to play against.

“He’s a very exciting young prospect and I would like to see Rushian moving away from Villa and having a chance somewhere to progress because he’s got tons of ability.”

Hepburn-Murphy is a promising and talented young forward who has a bright future ahead of him.

The 18-year-old has made two appearances in the Premier League so far this season.

Chances might be scarce for the teenager, but given his tender, he is only going to develop and improve.
