Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Umar Sadiq to Ibrox on loan.

Rangers have signed Sadiq on a season-long loan deal from AS Roma in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old striker has arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation and will be aiming to establish himself in Gerrard’s first term.
Beerschot Wilrijk manager Vreven worked with Sadiq at NAC Breda during the second half of last season, and the 45-year-old Belgian has given his take on the Nigeria Under-23 international striker.
Vreven told The Daily Record: “There were times with Umar that I would watch him and think ‘This is unbelievably bad’ and then 10 seconds later he would produce a world class moment.
“That for me sums up Umar Sadiq. He would go from magic to nothing and then magic again. Rangers fans can be sure life won’t be dull with him in the team.
“His style is strange but in a good way. He has fantastic, crazy moments but he can score goals and was really important for our team.
“It’s really difficult to play with him but that’s why it’s also difficult to play against him. He is an instinctive player and you don’t know what he’s going to do next.”

Huge demands
Sadiq is only 21 years of age, and one can understand why the Roma-owned striker has issues with lack of consistency.
The youngster, though, will have to step up at Rangers, as the Ibrox fans are very demanding and will expect him to be on top of his game all the way.
Rangers will be aiming to challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title as well as progress to the group stage of the Europa League.
