The Hammers chief medic believes the Ghanaian will be a valuable member of the team when he returns to action.
West Ham United’s Andre Ayew receives medical attention before going off injured
West Ham United’s head of medical and sports science Stijn Vandenbroucke has been discussing the fitness of attacker Andre Ayew during a trip to the Ghanaian homeland of the summer signing.
The Black Stars attacker joined West Ham in the summer from Swansea City in an attempt to bolster an injury prone attack at the London Stadium.
But Ayew picked up a serious thigh injury on his debut with the club and has not featured for the club since.

He is currently in Ghana along with West Ham striker Ashley Fletcher and medical director Vandenbroucke as part of a sponsorship tour. The Dutchman is quoted by the Ghana Guardian as making this statement about the Ghanaian’s injury:
“Andre is a great player and as a great player he is very important to the West Ham United family.”
“His comeback will be crucial but we believe it is a team effort and definitely we will turn things around.”
There is no doubt that Ayew’s return should have a big impact on the club.
West Ham are toiling at the wrong end of the Premier League table and are shy of striking options – with those still in action not exactly impressing.
Hammers fans will be looking forward to getting Ayew back in action as soon as possible. Hopefully he can help kickstart a change in fortunes.
