Tottenham Hotspur host Hull City at White Hart Lane tonight.

Stewart Robson has told ESPN that he expects Tottenham Hotspur to bounce back from their recent disappointment by beating Hull City tonight.

The Tigers visit White Hart Lane as Tottenham look for a response after going down 1-0 at Manchester United on Sunday.

Defeat could potentially leave them 13 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsesa and six adrift of the top-four spots.

Fortunately, Spurs are playing a Hull side who have managed just one victory in their last 13 league outings and that isn’t expected to change tonight.

Robson admits he feels sorry for City boss Mike Phelan but he cannot see anything but a Tottenham win this evening.

He told ESPN: “Hull, away from home, have been very, very poor. I feel sorry for Mike Phelan. They’re working hard but not good enough.

“Spurs need the result and need a good performance badly because the fans are starting to turn on the team.

“They hadn’t played well in the Champions League and they didn’t play well at United, but I think they’ll come out fighting [tonight] and win the game.”

Victory is paramount for Tottenham and would see them capitalise on Arsenal’s defeat after their North London rivals went down 2-1 at Everton last night.

The Gunners are seven points ahead of them in second, but that gap could, and should, be reduced to four points this evening.
