Donald has praised O’Nien for his goal for Sunderland in their 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic away from home at The Valley in League One.
The 24-year-old midfielder found the net with a fantastic finish in the second minute, and he later stated on Twitter that his grandfather was at the game.
