Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has revealed on social networking site Twitter that the club plan to make six more players to the squad in the next week or so.
The Black Cats, who will feature in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship at the end of the 2017-18 campaign, have been quite busy so far in the summer transfer window.
Jack Ross’s side have secured the services of Tom Flanagan, Jon McLaughlin and Dylan McGeouch among others players so far this summer.
Sunderland owner Donald has stated on Twitter that the Black Cats will make six new signings soon.
When replying to a Sunderland fan on Twitter, Donald wrote: “We are looking to add 6 or so down the spine of the team in the next week or two.
“Just give us a little time to try and strengthen the squad. We can all see what we need. I know it’s frustrating but we are working hard to get it right. Thanks.”
According to The Sunderland Echo, Sunderland aim to sign at least five more players before the 2018-19 League One campaign kicks off.
It has been reported that the Black Cats want to sign two new strikers, two central defenders and a central midfielder.
Sunderland have a strong squad, and given the signings they have already made so far this summer, the fans will expect the side to challenge for automatic promotion to the Championship.
