The Sunderland owner was quick to clarify the recent speculation.

Stewart Donald has responded a report by The Sun newspaper suggesting that a proposed takeover of Sunderland is ‘on the brink of collapse’.
It alleged that the American consortium in talks to buy the League One side – who last week registered the new company FFP Sunderland Limited – are continuing to haggle with Donald over some of the details of the deal, prompting fears that it will not go through.
But after it was suggested by a Sunderland fan the claim is probably ‘a load of *****’ the current Mackems owner replied with the following tweet:
That is not the only mention of Sunderland in The Sun‘s Sunday edition, with a separate report suggesting that Hibernian could approach the Mackems manager Jack Ross if Paul Heckingbottom is sacked.
Hibs drew 1-1 with Celtic on Saturday, but are struggling under Heckingbottom, who Sunderland fans will remember as one of the options their side pursued after sacking Simon Grayson two years ago.

Sunderland climbed to fifth with a 2-1 win against Milton Keynes Dons later yesterday afternoon.
But Ross is said to be under fire nonetheless.
