Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has responded to a fan of the club on Twitter when asked if he cares for the club.

Donald has outlined what he has done for Sunderland since taking over, and the businessman has made it clear that he cares for the Black Cats.

Disappointing start to the season

Sunderland reached the League One playoff final last season, but Jack Ross’s side failed to win the big match at Wembley Stadium in London.

The Black Cats are expected to finish in the top two of the Championship table this season, but they have not made a good start to the 2019-20 campaign.

Sunderland played out a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town away from home in League One at the weekend, while their opening game of the season earlier this month finished in a 1-1 draw with Oxford United.

The Black Cats will return to action on Tuesday evening when they take on Accrington Stanley away from home in the EFL Cup.
