Sunderland striker Josh Maja currently leads the scoring charts for Jack Ross’ side.

Stewart Donald has told Roker Report that Josh Maja wants to sign a new contract at Sunderland.
Maja has just six months remaining on his deal at the Stadium of Light, and he has been linked with a move away from Wearside.
Sunderland may have to cash in on the forward, who has led the line brilliantly for Jack Ross’ side this term, otherwise they risk losing him on a free.
But Donald insists that Maja does not want to leave the Black Cats.
“He’s a lovely lad, very easy to talk to, he wants to sign for Sunderland but he also values the advice of his agent,” Donald said.
“So he wants to talk it through with his agent. What matters is, not ruining out team spirit, not ruining what we’re trying to build, creating a culture whereby everybody wants to be here for all the right reasons.
“The ball is in his court, he has said he wants to sign, he wants to talk to his family and he’s going to tell us once he talks to his family what he wants to do.”

If Sunderland can get Maja to pen a new deal at the Stadium of Light then it would be a major boost for them.
Maja has been in flying form for the Black Cats, and leads their scoring charts.
Maja has already been linked with a range of clubs from higher divisions, and it seems as if he will make a step up if he does leave Sunderland.
Sunderland are currently in third place in the League One table, just one point away from the automatic spaces.
