Stoke City and Middlesbrough have both had offers accepted for the Sunderland midfielder.

Sunderland owner Stewart Donald has hit back at accusations the Mackems were continuing to offer around Paddy McNair, despite accepting Middlesbrough’s bid for the midfielder.
The Northern Echo reports that Boro have since withdrawn their offer, which it claims was worth £5 million, and will switch their attention to alternative targets.

Donald confirmed on Thursday that Stoke City had matched the terms agreed with Middlesbrough, before suggesting that further McNair approaches could still arrive from Premier League clubs.
However, after one Northern Echo reporter claimed Sunderland of ‘offering around’ the Northern Ireland international, Donald issued the following response via Twitter:

The Sun reported on page 58 of its printed edition on Friday that McNair may wait for Premier League offers, despite Stoke’s bid being accepted.
The Potters were relegated last season, but have already spent around £20 million on two players in their pursuit of an instant top-flight return.
Sunderland? Stoke City? Somewhere else? Where will McNair begin the new campaign?
