Stewart Donald has entered the caption competition set by Sunderland’s official club account… to boast about his own negotiation skills.
Sunderland had posted a photo of the Mackems manager, Jack Ross, smiling with the winger, Chris Maguire, after Saturday’s 2-1 win at Bradford City.
And the Sunderland owner, Donald, replied:
Despite finding Sunderland in a state of crisis at the start of the summer, Ross has led his new side to third in League One with 12 games played.
And Maguire has been one of the Mackems’ most impressive recruits, having scored or assisted seven goals in 12 league outings.
It was from the Scottish player’s free-kick that Sunderland scored their winner against Bradford, courtesy of Jack Baldwin’s low strike.
The Wearside club, who have only lost once in League One, are now just a point off the automatic places and four behind top of the table Portsmouth.
