Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers did not offer Craig Gordon a contract after he was released by Sunderland, but Celtic did.

Gordon did not play professional football for two years after being released by Sunderland in the summer of 2012.
The Scotland international goalkeeper trained with Rangers during the 2013-14 campaign, but the 35-year-old was not offered a contract by the Ibrox club.
After training with Celtic and recovering fully from his knee injury problems, the 35-year-old earned a contract with the Hoops, and the rest is history.
Gordon has now established himself as the first-choice goalkeeper for Celtic and is also a regular in the Scotland squad.
The 35-year-old former Heart of Midlothian goalkeeper has won the Scottish Premiership title four times, the Scottish League Cup four times, and the Scottish Cup twice with Celtic.
Woods is a goalkeeping coach at Celtic and also works with the Scotland national football team, and the 48-year-old has suggested that he could not believe that Rangers did not sign Gordon when they had the chance to.
“I’d kept an eye on Craig Gordon during his year’s training with Rangers,” Woods told The Scottish Sun. “I actually got footage of him training sent to me on the quiet.
“I felt convinced Gordon could get his career going again. I don’t know why Rangers didn’t sign him. History should have been different, they had Craig in the building.”
